Affinis Earns Best Firm Title for Third Time in Four Years

Best Firms 2010

Overland Park, Kansas-based Affinis Corp has been named a “Best Firm to Work For in Civil Engineering” by CE News for the third time in the past four years. Affinis was ranked in the Top 35 firms nationwide. Cindy Martens, Director of Human Resources, attended the Best Firms to Work For Summit awards banquet in Las Vegas on Tuesday, when the award was announced.

Rick Worrel, President, was pleased when he heard the announcement, “I’m humbled by the Best Firms recognition for the third time in four years. Nearly 10 years ago, a group of Affinis leaders set out to create a corporate culture different from many other engineering firms. Today, I believe it is fair to say that our efforts are being recognized by our co-workers as well as those outside our company. As a firm we continually strive to achieve our vision of being the employer of choice.”

In 2002, Rick Worrel and John Thomas, successful and experienced engineers respected throughout the Midwest, created Affinis Corp. In a world in which customer service means less more often than it means more, Affinis Corp is staking its future on relationships with clients. In fact, Affinis means “relationship” in Latin. Today the firm has more than 30 co-workers in our two offices, one in Overland Park, Kansas and one in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
