Speegle wins Young Engineer Awards

Cliff Speegle, PE, LEED™AP, has won Kansas Society of Professional Engineers’ (KSPE) Outstanding Intern Engineer Award. This award is presented annually to an up-and-coming engineer who emulates the professionalism and dedication KSPE encourages.
“Cliff has shown outstanding capability as a design engineer on our municipal streets and stormwater projects. He is technically competent, takes direction well, and takes the initiative to get things done. He has a keen sense of knowing our client’s needs and understanding what it takes to fulfill their expectations,” said Kristen Leathers, Associate and Cliff’s direct supervisor. “In addition to his technical competency, Cliff understands our business and has the foresight to anticipate what needs to be done.”
Cliff was one of a handful of chapter winners who then became eligible for the state award, which evaluates candidates in several areas:
Cliff’s time at Affinis has been productive. He earned his LEED™AP accreditation in 2008, and passed the Professional Engineer exam earlier this year. He is currently working on several street and stormwater projects. His fellow stormwater engineer, Brent Johnson, is also a previous winner of KSPE’s Outstanding Intern Engineer Award.
Affinis supports the pursuit of professional organization memberships for the educational opportunities and camaraderie they offer. In fact, many of our co-workers hold board positions in their professional organizations, which are a great benefit to our firm and the community as a whole.
