Affinis co-workers, along with thousands of others, literally answered the call to help meet the unprecedented need in Joplin following the recent horrific tornado damage.

Shortly after the extent of the devastation was realized, Cindy Martens, Human Resources, received a call from Jason Slattery, Heart to Heart International’s Community Relations Coordinator. He outlined the response Heart to Heart had already mounted and explained that the immediate need was financial assistance.

Relying on the company’s dedication to community involvement and making lives easier,Martens and Rick Worrel, Affinis President, were able to quickly mobilize all co-workers with this pledge: “for every dollar you donate to help with the needs in Joplin, Affinis will donate two.” In just days, this company of 23 people was able to contribute $2,145 to Heart to Heart’s Joplin relief efforts.

But this isn’t all Affinis did to help Joplin. As a part of the company’s on-going community service initiatives, co-workers had recently gathered at Heart to Heart’s headquarters to assemble 2,000 care kits, having no idea kits like these would soon be desperately needed so close to home.
