North Garth Avenue Bridge
over Bear Creek

Client: City of Columbia, Missouri

In 2001 the City of Columbia, Missouri, selected Affinis to provide design services to replace a narrow, undersized bridge over Bear Creek and improve approximately 600 feet of approach roadway of a residential collector. Funded by the Missouri Department of Transportation's (MoDOT) off-system bridge (BRO) program, the bridge is a three-span (36-foot, 60-foot, and 36-foot), prestressed concrete, I-girder bridge with round-column, intermediate bents. The roadway is 32 feet wide. The bridge will accommodate a bike/hike trail beneath it, eliminating an at-grade trail crossing.
