Blue Valley Schools Administrative Campus Site Development

Overland Park, Kansas

Client: Blue Valley Schools.

The school district’s administrative campus, located in Overland Park, Kansas, will be expanded in upcoming years. Our work will help the district better accommodate existing facilities and maximize the site for most flexibility for future expansion. Our site development work for this project includes relocating existing streets,
reconfiguring and expanding existing parking, and providing additional new parking lots.

Meeting a tight schedule and maintaining access to existing buildings on campus were both important parts of this project. To minimize the affect on the student body, construction for this project needed to be completed during the school district’s summer break. While traffic is reduced greatly during the summer, maintaining access for the district’s administrative staff was still important, and we planned three phases of construction to meet this need.

SIGNIFICANT DESIGN ITEMS:

• Traditional Neighborhood Design development
• Coordination with City of Overland Park and School District
• Fast track schedule so project could be completed during summer break

COST: $1.9 MILLION
