133rd & Roe Boulevard

Client: City of Leawood, Kansas

Affinis was retained by the City of Leawood to design a traffic signal at 133rd Street and Roe Avenue. Roe Avenue is a 4-lane divided roadway with center left turn lanes in each direction. 133rd Street is a 2-lane collector with center left turn lanes in each direction. Traffic volumes continue to increase at the intersection and plans for new development the southwest corner will add to the volumes. The traffic signal will accommodate the future need for right turn lanes on 133rd Street that will serve the future development. The traffic signal design will also address pedestrian access through the intersection. Along with the traffic signal design, our engineers are coordinating with WaterOne to avoid conflicts with a transmission main along Roe Avenue.
